Vintage Afghan

Vintage Afghan with Earl Grey's help

The past several days I have been working on an afghan pattern I found in a Ravelry group. The official name is Vintage Vertical Stripe Crocheted Blanket Pattern, and it can be found at http://belladia.typepad.com/bella_dia/2006/11/vintage_vertica.html
It is slow-going, and takes about a baseball sized scrap of yarn. I'm using the Clover Soft-touch size I hook, and am getting used to it now. Somehow, this afghan looks better in person than in the photo. I'll be glad when it gets a little bigger, so I can cover up with it while I work on it. It's been bitter cold here, and shows no sign of warming up. More snow predicted tonight. Ugh!! I'm enjoying this project.

I just love the name of your gray cat, Earl Grey. That gave me a good chuckle. I'll have to remember that one if I ever get another cat.

Enjoyed looking around your blog. Come visit mine if you get a chance.

Hi, June, I am busy "delurking" on my favorite blogs this week, since apparently this is the week for doing so. I'd seen the vintage afghan on Ravelry, and I love yours! If it's even better in person I'm sure it's truly outstanding.
Thanks for sharing your crafting tales, your kitty tales, and your faith with us.

Sincerely, Viv

This is perfect afghan creating weather, isn't it? I'm beginning to think the world shifted somehow and Meadows of Dan is now the North Pole!

It is going to be pretty, I am sure.
I am into quick gratification, so usually do not tackle a project of that magnitude. Socks and sweaters are my forte'.
Be sure to post a picture when you have finished it:) Until then, I hope you have gotten it large enough to cover you while you work.
