A Tribute - 20 years of friendship

It recently occured to me that it is the 20 year anniversary of my friendship via snail mail with Sister Marie Bauer. We "met" when I answered an ad in a crochet magazine - she was wanting patterns for Q-hook afghans. She lived at that time in my home town of Port Huron, Mich. We have traded patterns and friendship ever since. When my Mother died in 1993, and I was able to make the trip home, Sister Marie and I met face to face. My late husband was also there and also dear Sister Catherine, who has also gone to be with the Lord. We had dinner together, a brief visit, and had a great time. I will always cherish that short time we had together and be grateful for it. Sister Marie has since retired and I no longer can travel, but we still keep up with each other by mail. In this day & time when it is so easy to send an email & be done with it, it is getting harder to sit down with pen in hand & send someone a personal note. (Especially with the arthritis now.) Sometimes I wish the world didn't move so fast. I would love to be able to sit down with my friend once again and just chat & crochet.
